Inaugural Administrative Professional Awards presented

The presentation of inaugural Administrative Excellence Awards was a highlight of the 5th UOW Administrative Professional Conference held at the Innovation Campus on 18 February.

The Chief Administrative Officer, Melva Crouch, CAO, presented the awards to Elyse Stanes and Renee Agostino, both from the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The one-day event, organised by Professional Organisation and Development Services (PODS) provides an invaluable opportunity for staff to network, collaborate, learn and share ideas.

About 120 staff from the various faculties and divisions took part in the event – including staff from UOW’s regional campuses and Sydney Business School.

Keynote speaker was Rob Edwards a professional presenter who spoke on the topic health and employee wellness.

PODS Manager, Lorraine Denny, said UOW aims to maintain its high level of staff engagement and the conference was a key opportunity to ensure staff were kept informed about the future direction of the University.

Three workshops were conducted in unison with the conference: (1) Realise Your Strengths; (2) Using Technology to Enhance Performance; and (3) The Art of Mindfulness.
