UOW hosts its largest educational leadership conference

UOW has hosted the largest ever Educational Leadership Conference, with close to 300 delegates attending on Friday 21 February.

The event, now in its 13th year, brought together a broad cross-section of education leaders from across Australia, including aspiring school leaders, teachers, school leadership teams, government and systemic administrators, trainers and university academics.

The Director of The Australian Centre for Educational Leadership, Associate Professor Narottam Bhindi, said: “The Conference, as always, provided a challenging and inspiring program which explores a range of practical and relevant matters relating to the area of Educational Leadership.”

Professor Bhindi added that the speakers shared their perspectives and experience on what constitutes and influences workplace productivity and quality relationships and outcomes.

Keynote speakers, Professor Stephen Dinham OAM (Professor of Teacher Education and Director of Learning & Teaching in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne); Professor Jenny Gore (Dean of Education, University of Newcastle); and Professor Geoff Masters AO (Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of the Australian Council for Educational Research), led a very important discussion on the conference theme relating to “Effective Leaders: Leading Sustainable and Positive Change”.

The event was sponsored by The Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Wollongong, The NSW Department of Education and Communities, and School of Education at the University of Wollongong.
