2026 UOW Three Minute Thesis Final

An 80,000-word PhD thesis would take around nine hours to present. At the 3MT Final, researchers have just three minutes to tell their story.

Join us for the 2026 University of Wollongong Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Final on 8 July 2026, where seven outstanding PhD candidates will present their research in a compelling, accessible format.

Competitors will be vying for a share of $2,250 in prize money, as well as the opportunity to represent UOW at the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

Audience members are also invited to take part in the People’s Choice Award, casting their vote for the presentation that best communicates research with clarity and impact.
