With more than 30 years' experience in the criminal justice system, Justice Huggett has been involved in a number of high-profile criminal cases. For this year's Goldring lecture, Justice Huggett will explore: The changing face of the criminal proceedings in NSW: Reflections from the District Court.
Justice Huggett will reflect on some of the significant changes she has witnessed throughout her career – from the changing way juries are instructed and the reforms that have shaped how juries reach agreement, to the increasing complexity of trials brought about by technologies such as mobile phones and the internet.
It promises to be a fascinating insight into our criminal justice system, viewed through the experience of one of NSW’s most senior judicial figures.
