Jobs for the Future in Regional NSW, September 2019

  • Input in response to the Senate Select Committee Inquiry into Jobs for the Future in Regional Areas.
  • This Submission broadly addresses key elements of the Committee Terms of Reference by demonstrating the important role UOW is playing transforming the Illawarra and other regional areas in which it operates, in the generation and application of new ideas and, its capacity to educate people to meet the needs of the future workforce. In doing so, it seeks to demonstrate the role universities such as UOW can play in implementing government policy initiatives which encourage innovation and support the transition of regions into new industries and areas of employment opportunities.

National Foundation for Australia-China Relations

  • Input in response to call for Submissions by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade about the scope and programming of the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations.
  • The UOW strongly supports efforts of the Federal Government to continue to promote and develop strong links between Australia and China, and looks forward to the establishment of the Foundation as it continues to build upon the efforts of and developments driven by of the Australia-China Council

Regional, Rural and Remote Education Strategy Framing Paper, February 2019

  • Input in response to the Regional Education Expert Advisory Group’s Framing Paper and outlines UOW support for the Federal Government’s efforts to address issues impacting access and participation of people from regional, rural and remote backgrounds in post-secondary education. This paper follows on from a previous submission UOW provided into the Federal Government’s Independent Review into Regional, Rural and Remote Education that preceded this Framing Paper in August 2017.
