Provost
Professor Ana Deletic is a globally recognised leader in water engineering, with an extensive career spanning research, education, academic leadership, and institutional transformation. She currently serves as Provost at the University of Wollongong, where she plays a key role in shaping the University’s academic strategy and performance.
A highly respected academic and leader, Ana has a strong track record of building high‑performing research environments and fostering collaboration between universities, industry, and government.
Prior to joining the University of Wollongong, Ana was Executive Dean of Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Pro Vice‑Chancellor (Research) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and Associate Dean of Research at Monash University.
With nearly three decades of experience in this field, she is among the most highly published researchers globally on stormwater management and has led pioneering work in the development of nature‑based systems now widely adopted in Australia and internationally.
Ana is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), as well as an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia (EA). She has received numerous accolades, including the 2012 Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation and 2025 Global Water Award from the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).
