How is this program run?

This program is running face-to-face.


What will I do?

The Student Initiated Projects scheme is run through the School of the Arts, English and Media to enhance work integrated learning in the arts. Performance and Theatre students in particular produce and stage independent theatrical events for public audiences.


How will I benefit?

Students will benefit from managing, developing and staging new performative events. All participants will develop the ability to work successfully within a creative team. All participants will develop performance skills pertinent to the theatrical profession. Actors, directors and theatre technicians will demonstrate competencies in the skills necessary to be an actor, director or theatre technician.


How do I apply?

Actors wanting to be involved in SIPS can apply via audition to participate.


Are there any special requirements of the role?

The SIPS are Faculty and School specific - Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, The School of the Arts, English and Media. The Theatre and Performance SIPS are specific to the Bachelor of Performance course and the Bachelor of Creative Arts- Theatre course.


Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An "engaged" student will need to complete a minimum of 20 hours in a calendar year
