How is this program run?

This program is running face-to-face.


What will I do?

The Student Initiated Production (SIP) allows students the opportunity to gain skills as a theatre technician for a theatre or performance work. The students are mentored through all aspects of stage managing and other technical requirements as per Australian industry standards


How will I benefit?

You will develop and implement the following skills:

  • Stage Management: managing a team of cast and crew
  • Planning and scheduling rehearsals and productions
  • Effective communication
  • Preparing publicity material and overseeing Front of House
  • Creative skills - in either lighting, sound and/ or set design

Are there any special requirements for this role?

You must be at 200 level or above to apply.


Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx Recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An "engaged" student will need to complete a minimum 20 hours in a calendar year
  • A "highly engaged" student will need to complete 40 hours in a calendar year
