UOWx activity - SEF Group Leader

Student Engagement Forum (SEF) Group Leader

Activity overview

How is this program run?

This program is paused for 2024.

If you would like to express your interest for this activity while it is on hold, please email Business and Law Central (Sydney) and you will be contacted once the activity commences again.

What will I do?

You will be a part of a growing student community at Sydney Business School in which SEF groups are formed based on student feedback and interests. Each group is run by 3 group leaders and will have other students as its members. There are currently 8 active SEF groups, ranging from dancing to cooking to poetry writing and many more. You are also welcome to propose a new group of your interest. Sessions will be held weekly (desirable) depending on mutual availability of the group leaders and members. Sessions can be held on or off campus depending on the type of the group activities. In light of the COVID-19 situation, sessions are currently held remotely via Zoom session (Since 18 May 2020 till further notice).

You will plan, prepare, organise and market events with other group leaders of a SEF group formed based on special interests of students at Sydney Business School. You will be the lead to any one or more of the SEF groups of interest in terms of moderating each SEF group session, ensuring members are behaving based on the code of conduct and keeping a record of attendance in each session.

Your creative and organisational skills will help SEF groups continue organising student events remotely or on campus. Your interpersonal and marketing skills will ensure student engagement and participation in the proposed activities. The frequency and type of group activities can vary from one group to another. You will use your written and verbal communication skills by preparing reports and event plans and then communicating them to the Activity Coordinators.
