How is this program run?

This program is running face-to-face.


What will I do?

As a guide, you will engage playfully with both children and adult visitors to the Discovery Space, and encourage their creative participation in our experiences.
  


How will I benefit?

You will benefit by:

  • Gaining valuable experience in education, communication and engagement of children
  • Being creative, having fun and working with a supportive team of like-minded staff and volunteers
  • Receiving invitations to volunteer events and exclusive training opportunities with UOW early childhood researchers
  • Contributing to the Early Start vision that all children deserve the best start to life
  • Devising new educational/learning programs for diverse audiences

Are there any special requirements for this role?

Yes, you must be willing to undertake a Working with Children check. This is free for all volunteers. You must also undertake training and a formal interview.
  


Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An "engaged" student will need to complete a minimum of 20 hours within a calendar year
  • A "highly engaged" student will need to complete a minimum of 50 hours within a calendar year
