Summer Master Classes

Our 3-week Summer Master Class program allows you to complete a university subject and secure at minimum an early admission interview to kick start your higher education journey.

Applications

Applications are open now and will close at midnight on 10 October, 2021. No late applications will be considered.

Who can apply

  • You must be commencing Year 12 in Term 4, 2021

How to apply

Step 1: Have ready the following:

  • Your Student NESA number
  • Your subject results (from your half-year or yearly report OR completed Grade Verification Form (DOCX)
  • A copy of your Australian birth certificate, OR current, valid (not expired) passport, OR a copy of your current valid overseas passport and a copy of your Visa Grant Notice if you are a Permanent Resident or on a Humanitarian Visa.

Step 3: If you meet the eligibility requirements above, complete and submit your Summer Master Class application before midnight, 10 October, 2021.

Cost

 

Blended delivery

  • Due to COVID-19, the 2022 Summer Master Classes will use a blended delivery model incorporating self-directed online learning, staff-led online classes and on-campus classes.*

Course overview and assessment criteria

Compulsory attendance

  • Students must achieve 80% attendance of timetabled classes and program activities between 3-21 January, 2022.
  • Students must also attend an on-campus Orientation day on 7th or 8th December, 2021.

* On-campus components of delivery will be COVID 19 permitting. Should on-campus delivery not proceed all activities will be moved to online delivery.

  • Students who successfully pass their Summer Master Class subject will at minimum be guaranteed an Early Admission Interview to the university degrees that align with the Summer Master Class subject they complete.
  • Credit towards a UOW degree that could make you eligible to skip a whole subject when you study at UOW.

  • There is no UOW managed accommodation available for Summer Master Class students in 2022.
  • UOW will undertake NO supervisory capacity for students outside of Summer Master Class timetabled classes. UOW cannot provide an after-hours emergency contact point for students outside of this timetabled delivery.
