Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students
All initial teacher education students must pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) before they can commence their final professional experience. This is a NSW Government mandated requirement.
Changes to May test window due to COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the LANTITE test window for May 2020 (Window 2) will be restricted to candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria.
For UOW, the only students eligible to register will be final years students who require LANTITE to commence their final placements.
The test will be conducted by remote proctoring and will end on 26 May 2020 (5 days prior to the conclusion of the test window). More information is available on the official COVID-19 (Coronavirus) advice - LANTITE page. You will receive specific advice from the School through SOLS and SONIA.
When to take the Test
The School of Education recommends taking the Test:
Course | Recommendation |
---|---|
Bachelor of Primary Education | Spring Session in 2nd year |
Bachelor of Mathematics Education | Spring Session in 2nd year |
Bachelor of Health and Physical Education | Autumn Session in 3rd year |
Bachelor of Science Education | Spring Session in 2nd year |
Master of Teaching | Spring Session in 1st year |
Students should take the Test early to ensure it is completed well before their final professional experience.
