The National Association of Steel-framed Housing (NASH) to join the Steel Research Hub
The Steel Research Hub has officially welcomed the National Association of Steel-framed Housing (NASH) on board as an official partner. The collaborative relationship will assist the Hub in connecting and supporting the rapidly growing areas of steel frame fabricators, builders and suppliers, with NASH acting as a conduit and advocate for their members.
NASH represents the interests of steel frame fabricators for housing and low-rise framed construction, their customers, and suppliers. Their members include specialist steel frame fabricators, builders as well as suppliers of products and services to the industry.
NASH will join the Steel Research Hub’s dedicated SME Engagement and Innovation Program, bringing together the two organisations’ strong commitment to supporting a resilient, value-adding, steel supply chain. NASH will join Australian Steel Institute (ASI), Weld Australia (WA), Australian Industry Group (AIG) and Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre’s (AMGC) to create an efficient and targeted network to provide cost-effective opportunities for engagement with Australian universities. This will allow NASH to help their membership base take advantage of leveraged research opportunities offered by the Hub, as well as engaging in direct collaborative research.
NASH will undertake research with Dr Alan Green and the team at on the investigation into thermal performance of steel-framed ceilings. This research will provide valuable scientific input into upcoming proposed amendments to Energy Efficiency provisions for Residential Buildings (Houses and Apartments) in the National Construction Code 2022 revision.
The Steel Research Hub is excited by the opportunities presented through the creation of a formal collaboration with NASH. The Steel Research Hub believes this creates a valuable, mutually beneficial opportunity to support an important and growing aspect of the Australian steel industry, and we look forward to working closely with NASH.
