NSW ANZIAM Annual Meeting

  • - All Day
  • Wollongong Campus
    20.5

The conference will feature two invited speakers:

Professor Scot McCue, Professor of Applied Mathematics at QUT

Professor McCue is interested in the mathematics of fluid flow, heat transfer, water wave propagation, diffusion and mathematical biology, with particular attention applied to pattern formal on, wave propagation and instabilities. He uses a variety of analytical techniques, including applied complex analysis, formal asymptotics and other approximate methods. He has been awarded the EO Tuck Medal and the JH Michell Medal by ANZIAM. He is currently on the editorial board for four journals, including Proceedings of the Royal Society A. As of 2024, he is on the ARC College of Experts.

Dr Eva Stadler, the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney

Dr Stadler is an Early career researcher in the Infection Analytics Program. Her research interest is to use mathematical and statistical methods in interdisciplinary and collaborative projects on within-host dynamics, immunity, and treatment of malaria and SARS-CoV-2. A focus of her recent work is the analysis of in vitro and clinical data to investigate the resistance risk for antimalarial drugs and to predict the efficacy of passive antibody prophylaxis and treatments in SARS-CoV-2.

When: The conference will open at 10.30 am on 30 November and conclude on 1 December 2023.

Where: Room 20.5
University of Wollongong, Wollongong
