Sydney Business School would like to invite you to join Professor Colin Picker, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law in this special presentation discussing the origins, developments and current operations of the international trade regime.

Professor Picker will look take a specific look at the dispute resolution aspects of the multilateral and bilateral agreements, as well as those available as domestic-based remedies, while further exploring the ongoing trade conflicts between Australia and China, and Brexit.

And finally Professor Picker will examine how the popular media gives an impression of lawlessness in the international trade environment, but in reality it is well regulated and largely effective legal regime.

Professor Colin Picker Biography

Professor Picker is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, and prior to this the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts at the University of Wollongong. Previously, Professor Picker was the Dean of Law at UNSW Law, Director (founder) of the China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Initiative, and Director of the IBEL Stream of the LLM.

Professor Picker entered academia in 2000 after practising at the Washington DC law firm Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering. Professor Picker has also been widely published in areas of IEL, International Law, China and Comparative Law.
