Juniper Berries

UOW alumni event: the art of gin making

  • -
  • Science Space, Innovation Campus, Squires Way, North Wollongong

Did you know that gin’s main ingredient, Juniper, is full of infection fighting flavonoids? Tonic water is full of quinine which fights off malaria and citrus is full of vitamins to fight off scurvy.

Join us and your fellow alumni at the Science Space as we delve into the science behind the wonderful world of Gin. The gin experts from Wollongong’s Births & Deaths and South Coast Distillery will teach us about everything from picking botanicals to the science of fermentation, distillation and ageing. There will be gin tastings, as well as an opportunity to explore the exhibition space at night, over canapes and drinks, while Music Farmers spin your favourite vinyl.
