Overview
The Graduate Diploma in Electrical Engineering provides a pathway into the Coursework Masters Program for students who have an undergraduate background that is not specifically in computer, electrical or telecommunications engineering.
Students will have the opportunity to gain generic skills and knowledge in the areas of:
- Database Systems
- Digital Hardware
- Power Engineering
- Communications
- Internet Engineering
Entry Requirements / Assumed Knowledge
A degree equivalent to a four year Australian Bachelor degree, majoring in Engineering (other than Computer, Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering), Computing, IT, Physics or related areas; OR a degree/diploma equivalent to a three year Australian Bachelor degree majoring in Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or Mechatronics Engineering .
Course Requirements
Students are required to satisfactorily complete a selection of eight subjects (48 credit points), as approved by the Head of School or delegate.
The chosen program of study must include at least 24 credit points of 300-level subjects and will be based on the student's undergraduate background and relevant work experience, and will be selected from a range of first, second and third year subjects offered in the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer or Telecommunications) program or degrees offered by other Schools in the Faculty.
