Overview
The Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced provides an intensive specialised professional program of study in the area of occupational health & safety and specialisation in one of two streams of study: Health Promotion or Research.
Graduates of the Health Promotion specialisation will obtain a high level of skills and knowledge in work health, safety and population health. Graduates of the WHS Research specialisation will extend their knowledge and skills to include societal aspects of population health. Knowledge and skills developed through the degree will be applied to a research-based capstone workplace project in the final stage of the program to develop a high level of evidence-based specialised professional practice in occupational health and safety.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced will be able to:
- Critically analyse and evaluate WHS issues using data, research and argument.
- Develop effective responses to WHS issues with creativity, logic and critical thinking.
- Effectively articulate and convey work health & safety knowledge, skills and ideas to collaborate and engage with people in different settings and different cultural environments.
- Demonstrate awareness and strategies to acknowledge, appreciate and respect diversity.
- Develop strategies to maintain personal integrity within the field of WHS.
- Identify and apply appropriate resources and technologies for professional practice in WHS in order to function effectively in the digital environment.
- Conceptualise key issues and concepts related to a range of contemporary public health sub-disciplines.

The Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced requires the successful completion of at least 96 credit points including:
- 48 credit points from core subjects; and
- 48 credit points from a selected specialisation.
