Course Description
The Graduate Diploma in Electrical Engineering provides an opportunity for students with an ICT or non-Electrical Engineering background to upgrade their knowledge and understanding in this field, with the option to progress to a coursework Masters degree with a major in Computer, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
Students will have the opportunity to gain generic skills and knowledge in the areas of:
- Database Systems
- Digital Hardware
- Power Engineering
- Communications
- Internet Engineering

Course structure
Students are required to satisfactorily complete a selection of eight subjects (48 credit points), as approved by the Head of School or delegate.
The chosen program of study must include at least 24 credit points of 300-level subjects and will be based on the student's undergraduate background and relevant work experience, and will be selected from a range of first, second and third year subjects offered in the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer or Telecommunications) program or degrees offered by other Schools in the Faculty.
