Marisa Mastroianni

Group CEO and Managing Director of UOW Global Enterprises

Marisa Mastroianni is Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UOW Global Enterprises. An experienced CEO and non-executive director, Marisa is also a member of the Venues NSW Illawarra Regional Advisory Committee and has held senior financial and executive roles in the maritime, health, retirement, and aged care sectors.

Kath McCollim

Executive Director Business Development, UOW Global Enterprises

Kath McCollim specialises in organisational transformation with over 30 years' experience in strategic roles in both the private and public sectors in Australia. This encompasses leadership positions in steel manufacturing, health insurance, consulting and higher education.

Kath is renowned for identifying and responding to emerging business opportunities and developing visionary strategy whilst maintaining a practical appreciation of strategy execution. She has outstanding stakeholder communication, consultation and negotiation skills. She leads organisational change by achieving a high level of staff engagement and maintaining an unrelenting focus on customer service. Her project management abilities are highly regarding across many industry sectors.

As Executive Director Business Development for UOW Global Enterprises, Kath is providing executive leadership to UOW India, driving its early growth from start-up to scale-up. She is also providing executive leadership to UOW Malaysia, as it navigates market shifts in foreign investment and international student demand across South-East Asia.

Professor Mohamed Salem

President of the University of Wollongong in Dubai and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Middle East and North Africa) 

Professor Mohamed-Vall M. Salem Zein was appointed President of the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) in 2015 and has held leadership positions with UOWD since 2004. He is committed to enhancing UOWD's standing in the region and has expertise in both technical and non-technical aspects of computing, focusing on software engineering. 

Professor Christian Ritz

Dean of Global Academic Affairs

Professor Christian Ritz serves as the Dean of Global Academic Affairs at UOW Global Enterprises, where he leads the development and delivery of the University of Wollongong's international education programs across its global campuses and networks. In addition to this pivotal role, he is a Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering and the Director of the SMART Infrastructure Facility, demonstrating his leadership in both academic and research excellence.

Nimay Kalyani

Campus Director 

Originally from Gujarat, India, Nimay Kalyani's professional background spans almost 30 years. He developed his expertise in Quality and Business Improvement in Hong Kong, demonstrating leadership in cross-border operations, M&A, and automation. After earning his MBA and MAF, he contributed to academia at the University of Newcastle (UON).

Teaching Faculty

Dr Kiran Trivedi

Associate Professor, Computing, University of Wollongong, India campus

A distinguished academic leader with more than 27 years of experience in education and research, Dr Trivedi has served in Professor and Head of department roles at prestigious institutions throughout India and the US. His award-winning research is at the forefront of emerging computer science disciplines including, machine learning applications in health informatics, IoT systems and data analytics is documented in more than 35 publications.

Dr Rajsee Joshi Shah

Assistant Professor, Financial Technology, University of Wollongong, India campus

Dr. Rajsee Joshi Shah, Assistant Professor of Financial Technology at the University of Wollongong, India, has over 17 years of academic and corporate experience, holding a Doctorate in Management, an MBA in Finance, and certifications from Wharton and IIBA. Her research centers on Fintech, Environment & Sustainability, and Corporate Governance, with numerous publications in international journals. Committed to UOW’s growth in India, Dr. Shah leverages her expertise in finance and technology, leading workshops and masterclasses to bridge industry-academia gaps within GIFT-City, fostering a diverse learning environment aligned with UOW Australia’s standards, and creating opportunities for students in a globally recognised ecosystem.

Dr Jasmin B Gupta 

Professor of Practice in Fintech, University of Wollongong, India campus

A fintech leader with more than two decades in banking and financial technology, Dr Gupta has held senior roles at HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Equitas Small Finance Bank, where she launched two of India’s leading neobanks. As CEO and Co-founder of LXME, she built India’s first financial platform for women. A four-time TEDx speaker and author of two books, she holds a PhD in financial inclusion and has been featured by UN Women among 75 women who lead in India.

Dr Hiteksha Upadhyay

Assistant Professor, Finance and Business Analytics, University of Wollongong, India campus 

With 15 years of experience in higher education and industry consulting, Dr Upadhyay previously served as Assistant Professor and MBA Academic Coordinator at GLS University, Ahmedabad, guiding more than 300 postgraduate research projects. Her research spans capital markets, digital payments, financial risk management and business analytics, with work published in Scopus-indexed journals including the Asian Journal of Management Cases (Sage).

Ms Veera Jain 

Senior Lecturer, Finance and Business Analytics, University of Wollongong, India campus

A University of Mumbai gold medallist who graduated first in her Master of Commerce, Ms Jain brings seven years of academic, industry and research experience, including US GAAP and IFRS reporting for more than 40 clients as Associate Director at SGAS Consultants LLP. Her award-winning research spans financial performance analysis, corporate valuation, employee wellbeing and digital forensics in auditing, with seven peer-reviewed publications.
