Checking your Login Details

The login analysis tool may save you from a lot of wasted enquiries.

We all enter WebCT by providing our email username (eg abc123) and password on a login page.

On the same page is a link asking

Unable to get in?   Check your access

but you can check your access right now.

This tool will allow you to

a) See whether the username (WebCT ID) you are entering is a name that **does exist** in the UOW email system; if the name you entered is in the system, you'll see Valid username.

b) See whether there is a current password associated with that name; if so, you'll see Current password. Note that this tool does not check whether the password you entered is the right one for that username.

c) See whether the person with that username is registered in any WebCT subject sites, and in which ones. Currently only 30% of subjects have sites.

Once you have this information you will be much better equipped to pursue your enquiries, either with your lecturer or with the ITS Service Centre on the First Level of Building 17, phone 61 2 4221 3775.

Passwords expire after 190 days and then can't be used to gain entry. You should change your password before this occurs. You will be sent several email messages warning you when your password is about to expire.
