Information and technology

Effective use of information resources is vital to your project. How well placed are you to make the most of library sources – is your training up to date? Although most Honours students will already have undertaken a variety of Library workshops, rapid changes in the availability of electronic resources, and the specific needs of research make it advisable to update your skills at least once a year.

Check out the Information for honours students on the Library website. As an honours student you have extended borrowing rights, access to document delivery and one-on-one assistance from your Liaison Librarian. Liaison Librarians are the main point of contact between the faculty they represent and the Library. Your Liaison Librarian is available for individual consultations or group workshops. Do you know who your Liaison Librarian is?

The Statistical Consulting Service in the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics provides students and staff members of the University of Wollongong with consulting assistance for research. Further information can be obtained by visiting the web site at http://www.informatics.uow.edu.au/maths/scs/ or phoning Kerrie Gamble on 4221 4308. Discuss with your supervisor first.
