Equipment and facilities

At an early stage you should discuss with your supervisor what equipment and facilities you will need access to.  There are a number of questions that have implications for your planning and scheduling.

• Will you be operating the equipment, or are you dependent on someone else to operate it?
• What sort of training do you need before you can use it?
• What OH&S procedures need to be in place?
• What constraints are there in terms of access, timing, other users?

In most academic units you will have access to shared desk space and computers.
