Upcoming Trackwork - Safety Issue
CityRail have advised the South Coast Line will be upgraded from Monday 26 September to Friday 7 October 2011.
Buses will replace most trains between Waterfall and Wollongong. The North Gong shuttle is scheduled to run as normal and will continue to pick passengers up on the Western side of North Wollongong station (Porter St interchange). Most trackwork buses will run to the same timetable as trains, but please allow for minor delays. The North Gong shuttle drivers are aware of the trackwork and will wait for passengers as long as possible.
The southbound bus will stop in the bus bay on Flinders St, close to Ajax Ave. Please take extra care and cross at the traffic lights for your safety when alighting here.
CityRail will be replacing timber sleepers with concrete sleepers, installing new rail and cleaning ballast to upgrade over 3.5 km of track.
