Support UOW in Relay for Life 2011

Every five minutes, another Australian is diagnosed with cancer. While survival rates are improving every day, cancer remains a leading cause of death globally. This year, UOW is helping in the fight against cancer by supporting the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life 2011! All UOW staff and students are invited to help!

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. Join the Team! By far the best way to get involved is to join the team, so that you can raise money and participate on the day. The Illawarra Relay for Life event will be held on Saturday, 24th of September at Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre (Beaton Park). Being part of the team is totally flexible – you don’t have to walk a minimum number of laps or be there for a set amount of time – it just means you want to take part in the Relay and support the Cancer Council. If you’d like to join, visit our Team website - http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/2011/illawarra_2011/UOW/

2. Donate! Even if you can’t join the team, you can still support us by donating to us through our website - http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/2011/illawarra_2011/UOW/. Donating online is easy, and you can give as much or as little as you’d like. This year our goal is to raise $1 500, and every little bit helps!

3. Buy our stuff! Even if you can’t join or make a donation online, the 2011 UOW Relay team will be running a number of fundraisers around campus, such as a raffle (with some great prizes!), *** cake stores ***(tomorrow, 31/8/2011, 11am-2pm, outside building 20) and chocolate drives.. If something catches your eye, come and buy it! You can even just drop a few coins in our collection tins, which are located at various locations around campus.

We’re looking forward to your help in any way you can!
