Environment Unit Launch and Lunch
You are invited to attend the University’s Environmental Team launch on Friday 5 June from 12pm in the University Hall Foyer – Building 11.
Friday 5 June is also world Environment Day. The theme for 2009 is 'Your Planet Needs You-UNite to Combat Climate Change'.
This is an opportunity to find out more about the Environmental & Sustainability Initiatives Unit, the areas it covers, and the issues it is dealing with.
Day agenda:
* 12:00pm Official Opening (ESI Unit Overview & Website Launch)
* 12:30pm Open Forum (a guided discussion with questions to be taken from the forum group)
* 1:30pm PIP’s Demonstration: Electricity Management @ UOW
* 2:00pm Stick around and chat with the ESI Team & visit the stalls
We encourage you to attend this launch and engage at the forum which will both address the challenges raised at last year, and focus on the way forward. Refreshments will also be available.
The "ESI" Team have been established to support a cultural shift toward environmental sustainability. The environmental initiatives of the team involve sustained water, energy and emissions reduction, improved waste and recycling management and care of ecological systems.
