Close the Gap
Closing the Gap is a national goal. It is everybody's business and it requires us as individuals and communities to make a commitment to change in Australia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can expect to live substantially shorter lives than other Australians - up to 20 years less in some cases. It's a health crisis that would normally be associated with an impoverished nation, but it's happening right now in our own backyard.
Do something positive to bring about change - come along to the UNIHALL FOYER on THURSDAY 24 March 2011 between 10.30am and 2.30pm and you can:
# sign the Oxfam CLOSE THE GAP pledge; # visit information stalls including NSW Health, Woolyungah Indigenous Centre, SHARP and Boolarng Nangami Cultural Centre; # watch the 2011 Close the Gap DVD (showing at 12.30); # listen to Nathan Foley (starred in Mamma Mia and Hi-5); # put your handpring on the banner and plant a SEA OF HANDS; # be inspired by the Wiyanga Nanga Mai ladies group; and # MUCH MUCH MORE!!
Please note change of venue from duckpond lawn to Unihall foyer
