Campus Watch Alert - Gwynneville area
Last night Monday 7 March, about 7:10pm near Paulsgrove Street and Murphy's Avenue a group of three males chastised a group of three students walking home from Wollongong Campus. One of the male offenders grabbed one of the student's bag, snatching it from her and fleeing with the student's property. Several witnesses reported this incident immediately to UOW Security. Security Staff attended the scene and supported the students until the arrival of Police. We have only learned today that in a separate incident last Saturday 5 March in vicinity of Porter Street and Crawford Avenue, a student walking to the train station from her home had her bag snatched by a male offender who came up from behind the victim. In the incident last night the offenders are described as 1st Offender; male, early to mid 20’s wearing flannelette shirt, dark coloured hoodie and black shorts with blonde hair. described as thin build and average height. This offender grabbed the bag. 2nd offender; male early to mid 20’s wearing black clothes, sports shirt, black shorts, blonde hair with average height and build. 3rd offender is not described. These events are a clear reminder that Students need to be aware of their surroundings and personal safety.
