Bus and Train Fares just got cheaper
Hi everyone,
The new fare system started today and it may save you quite a bit on your travel costs. To answer a few questions I’ve been getting:
How does the new “MyZone” system save on train fares?
Many single fares are reduced and they’re now capped at $7.80 ($3.90 concession) no matter how far you travel (Newcastle to Nowra)
Weekly fares are capped at $56 ($28 concession).
And how does it save on bus fares?
Single fares are now capped at $4.30 ($2.10 concession)
“travel ten” tickets (ten trips) give the equivalent of a weekly bus ticket at 20% discount
And if I need to catch buses and trains?
Pay just a dollar (or 50c) more for your weekly train ticket and get a “my multi” ticket covering all buses and trains!
Ie. For just $57 ($28.50 concession) you get unlimited bus and train travel for the week, across all of the Illawarra and Sydney!
