Graduate Membership of Council

The University Council is the governing body of the University. It is responsible for the policy decisions which determine and guide the effective administration and development of the University.

The Council is comprised of 19 members, two of whom are elected by graduates of UOW. The graduate members of Council serve a four year term. The next election of a graduate member of Council will be held in 2009.

A Roll of Graduates is kept containing the names and last known addresses of UOW graduates which is used in the election of new graduate members to Council. Therefore it is important for graduates and others to keep the University informed of any change of contact details.

The persons qualified to be elected as graduate members of the University Council are persons whose names appear on the Roll of Graduates, other than members of the staff and students of the University (who have their own elected representatives on council) at the date prescribed for the election.

If you wish to find out more about the University Council, its graduate members, or if you simply wish to advise of a change of address, please email the Assistant Secretary to University Council, Dr Nancy Huggett nhuggett@uow.edu.au or phone (02) 4221 5684.
