Student Central
if you have any enquiries about applying for graduation. The July 2008 Graduation Ceremonies will be held from July 16-18. Each day will comprise a morning and an afternoon ceremony. All Academic staff members are encouraged to attend graduation ceremonies as part of the Academic Procession to share in the success of their graduates. We would appreciate it if staff could register for the procession by Friday 27th June. A confirmation email will be sent to all staff who have registered after this date to confirm your attendance. How to register for the Academic ProcessionAt the bottom of this page is a link to the registration form. Just complete the form with all of your details. If you have any special requirements (e.g. disabled access) please note these in the comments section at the end of the form. We're also happy to accommodate (where possible) those staff who have family or friends graduating who would like to be seated on the "student" side of the stage. Borrowing Academic DressThere is a section on the form to indicate if you need either UOW or non-UOW academic dress supplied. If you are a University of Wollongong graduate the correct UOW academic dress for your degree can be arranged. If you graduated from another university, there are a limited number of generic black gowns, hoods, and mortars available. We cannot guarantee the exact dress for your degree. If you wish to wear the specific academic dress from the university you graduated from, you should contact their graduation office as soon as possible to arrange for academic dress hire. The academic dress will be available from 36.305 on the day/s you have elected to attend. Please note that unless the form is completed correctly and returned by the deadline, academic dress cannot be supplied. We're still working on the procession registration system so at this point we will not be able to automatically complete your academic dress details with those you may have supplied previously. However, if you can't remember your details and you were in previous processions, contact us on the email below and we'll be able to look them up. What to do on the dayThe Academic Procession assembles in the foyer of Building 36 (Administration) before each ceremony, then walks to the University Hall. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to allow sufficient time to dress and have your name marked off by the graduation staff. If you have any enquiries, please contact the Policy & Governance Unit .
