iLIVE Program

A vibrant social calendar exists at International House with a wide range of events and activities to choose from.

All activities at International House make up the award winning iLIVE program. The iLIVE program enables residents to achieve the International House vision, "Global Wellbeing Starts Here" and its mission "To promote global wellbeing by enabling UOW students living at International House to be intercultural leaders."

The program creates the social structure of the multicultural residential learning community and each activity has written objectives using skills, knowledge, attitudes and confidence as outcome domains.

Some examples of events are:

  • BYO Academic – a trivia night where residents invite an academic (Faculty) staff member. Includes a three course meal.
  • Meet the Teach – An evening where staff from different faculties meet with their respective residents.
  • Tuesday Topicals – Eight Tuesday nights per session with varying formats and topics.
  • Global Visions – Intercultural leader series with topics from prominent speakers and performers highlighting global issues.
  • Study Groups – Free food and stationery is available if you inform the Student Development Assistant of your study group.
  • Stella Thai Cuisine – free Thai cooking lessons from International House chef Stella.
  • Welcome to Country – Welcome to Australia from the traditional owners, a unique insight into Australian indigenous culture.
  • iFeast – An International Food Festival where students cook food from their own country and share with friends from International House.
  • iPoll - A web-based community poll covering local and global issues with up to 50% of the community voting daily.
  • Farewell Formals - Each session residents say farewell and is recognised with four major awards and gifts to graduands.
