The University of Wollongong is just a 90 minutes drive south of Sydney, and located between the stunning Illawarra escarpment and the sea. Wollongong provides a unique blend of regional beauty and city lifestyle, and is renowned for safe and spectacular beaches suitable for swimming and surfing. Easily accessible by public and private transport are tranquil rainforests, national parks and nationally acclaimed sporting facilities.

The university has a range of student residences offering a variety of accommodation and conference options suitable for sporting groups, special interest groups, study groups and conferences.  All residences are a short distance to beaches, the city, shopping and the university campus, with Kooloobong being located on campus.

Accommodation ranges from single bedrooms in units of 2 – 5 bedrooms to motel and backpacker style accommodation with catering and self catering options. Conference packages can be tailored to suit the needs of each event and a range of styles, services and tariffs are available.

Keiraview

Keiraview Accommodation is conveniently located on the fringe of the Wollongong CBD and is walking distance to some of Wollongong’s best cafes and restaurants, the beach, public transport and many other local attractions. 

Keiraview offers motel and backpacker style accommodation and a range of rooms are available, including single, double or family style accommodation. All of the motel rooms have private amenities, tea and coffee making facilities, TVs and many have private balconies.

As a member of YHA, Keiraview has separate backpacker accommodation ranging from twin share rooms with bunk beds to multi share rooms.

Guests can enjoy the outdoor courtyard with BBQ facilities or the communal games and pool room as well as an internet Café service.  Wireless is available in communal areas.

Campus East

Located across the road from one of Wollongong’s better surfing beaches, Campus East offers a great accommodation choice for those seeking budget rooms in a comfortable, student style environment. It is perfect for large group bookings and can provide catering and self catering options. Facilities include a dining room, meeting rooms, games room, playing fields and laundries. Campus East provides an ideal option for people seeking convenient and affordable accommodation that is close to the university, beaches, sporting facilities, bike paths and Wollongong city. 

The accommodation style ranges from singe bedrooms in units of two, three, four and five bedroom units.  Each unit has shared bathroom facilities and some offer a shared communal area. There is a limited number of recently refurbished self catered apartments available which have shared kitchen, bathroom and living areas.

Kooloobong Apartments

Kooloobong Apartments are located on the University campus amidst a bushland setting on the edge of Mt Keira.  With 38 apartments, Kooloobong can accommodate up to 190 people.  A self catered residence, delegates have a single room in a five bedroom furnished apartment, sharing a kitchen, living and bathroom facilities.  A continental breakfast can be provided on request and outdoor BBQ facilities are available.

Kooloobong is ideal for large conference and holiday groups wanting the convenience of being close to university facilities while enjoying the peaceful setting.

Accommodation and catering is also available at Weerona College and International House.

News Updates

Applications are being accepted for Autumn Semester 2010. Due to the very high demand to live @ UOW, it is recommended that you apply on line as soon as possible, and definitely before 30 November 2009.  While applications received after this date will be considered, they are less likely to obtain a place in residence. Information about Autumn Semester 2010 offers can be found here.
