Students in residence cash in at Casino Royale Ball

Students rolled their dice and got a taste of the highlife at the Living @ UOW Casino Royale Ball.

With a record crowd and over 366 students from Campus East, Weerona College, International House, Kooloobong, Keiraview and Graduate House, guests walked down the red carpet and entered the Casino Royale where a two course meal, music and dancing awaited them.

It was a night of awards with best dressed recognition given to a male and female from each residence.  Students made a spectacular effort with the style ranging from the Aussie style James Bond to glamorous Casino Royale.  Special mention should go to the Casino Girls from Kooloobong  and overall best dressed went to Sophie McClintock from Campus East and Rowen Cignoni from Kooloobong.

In keeping with the Casino Royale theme, each student was given one thousand living @ UOW dollars, a new currency designed for students living in residence to try their luck on the Black Jack, Roulette, Craps,Texas Hold’em Poker tables and the Money Wheel and Two Up.  Croupiers were available to lend a guiding hand and explain the rules.

Staff and students alike did a supreme job of supporting the event and generating interest.  Special thanks goes to all the staff at Keiraview and the other sites of Accommodation Services and special mention to Tessa Lumsden, from  International House, who organised the Casino Royale Trivia quiz along with Chris Dickson and Kelly Paling from Kooloobong and Sarah Norton from Campus East.
