Fees & Application

Applications

Applications for accommodation in the University Residences are available online. If you wish to have an information brochure posted to you, please call Accommodation Services on (+61) 2 4221 5467, 2 4221 5468, or email your request to accomapp@uow.edu.au.

Fees

Please download the  Schedule of Residence Fees.  Electricity and water charges are included in the fees. Residents at Gundi and Graduate House are responsible for their own telephone connection and associated costs with the service provider of their choice.

Residents will be billed for the entire contract period upfront. The due dates for payment are the 22/2/13 (Autumn session fees) and the 19/7/13 (Spring session fees). All fees are quoted in Australian dollars.

All fees are quoted in Australian dollars. Residents will be billed at the begining of the year or session they commence living with us, for the entire contract period.  Payment may be made using B-Pay, cheque, bankcheque, postal order, EFTPOS, credit card or Centrepay. Residents may pay their accommodation fees on-line, at the residence, or at the Accommodation Services office in Student Central (Building 17).

Meal Costs

Students living at Weerona College and International House should be aware that the cost of meals is built into the fee structure and that there are no separate "meal plans" available. At Campus East "Flexi-Catered" accommodation an intial charge is placed on the account then residents can add "credit" to a debit card for their meals during their stay.

Payment Up Front

For peace of mind we recommend payment of fees up-front. This can be achieved via cheque, EFTPOS, Credit Card, B-Pay or using the secure student payment intranet site http://pay-accom.uow.edu.au.

Direct Debits

If a student is not in a position to pay their fees up-front, the University will allow payments to be made via direct debit on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Please refer to the direct debit paperwork and calculator.

By using the direct debit calculator, scheduled payments have been structured at a level that will results in student fees being paid in full approximately four weeks in advance, as at the end of the contract. This is a more flexible approach, rather than requiring four weeks in advance up-front which is typical of private rental arrangements.

Alternate Payment Plan

In extenuating circumstances, where you cannot make your payments either by (a) lump sum upfront or (b) via direct debit, you must complete a Request for Alternate Payment Plan where other options can be considered. As outlined in the offer letter, requests for an alternate payment plan must be received by the Student Residence Manager for consideration within five working days of the date of the offer letter itself.
