Here's what some of our residents have to say about UOW Living:

Bartek Matuszkiewicz (Australian) - Campus East
Bartek Matuszkiewicz"Campus East is a really good transition from moving out of home to Uni life. You don’t have to worry about cooking so it’s a good way to get used to living out of home.
Living on campus is the best way to go; you meet a lot of people and have the opportunity to try things you would never have done before. The best thing about Campus East is the dining hall. It’s the most social place on campus. Campus East is big enough so that you meet new people all the time, but small enough so that you get privacy as well."

Bachelor of Engineering - 4th Year

Brittany Reeves (Australian) - Marketview
Brittany Reeves"The location is the best at Marketview with the free bus to uni and to be able to walk to dinner or the pub. The fact we are living in an old hotel is pretty cool, the rooms are awesome. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff make everyone feel welcome.
We have a fantastic team and they are determined to give everyone the best possible living experience, it’s going to be a great year. I’m looking forward to meeting people from all over Australia and all over the world and making some new friends."

Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of International Studies - 5th Year

Anna Johnson-Hill (Australian) - Weerona College
Anna Johnson-Hill"The best thing about Weerona is the location. We are ten minutes from town, 15 mins to UOW and 20 mins to the beach. Also the community atmosphere we have here is amazing. The 200 people that you live with become your family and everyone is so friendly and nice. Each resident gets a choice of so many things to do. You come out of Weerona well rounded. My favourite moment at Weerona is when I wanted to organise an event in my first year and I ended up getting about 50 people involved. It was called a mob run where we dressed up in the most colourful clothing we could find and we went through Wollongong and had a really fun time."

Bachelor of International Studies - Bachelor of Commerce - 3rd Year

Mohd Hazmi Bin Mohd Rusli (Malaysian) - Gundi
Hazmi"My favourite moment at Gundi is when all of us get together to play cards. We have created a tradition where all ‘Gundians’ need to know how to play cards, so we can all enjoy laughing and experience the fun times together.
The best thing about Gundi is the location. It’s so close to the city centre, free shuttle bus and the beach- for me it’s like living in a resort because it is very green, has its own garden, is very close to the coast and has this fantastic international and independent atmosphere. I have housemates from Africa, Asia and Australia so to be able to put people from all over the world under one roof is what is amazing about Gundi."

PhD Law

Ninan Mathew (Indian) - Kooloobong
Ninan Mathew"The best thing about living at Kooloobong is the people here. It’s easy to make friends and these friends will last beyond my time at UOW. I’m looking forward to meeting even more people this year and some exciting new activities this year. The atmosphere around here is pretty relaxed and easy-going.
While we do a lot of organised activities we also like to get together casually. This feels a lot like home and I think all the students would say that."

PhD Mechanical Engineering

Diana Layoun (Australian/Lebanese) - International House
Diana Layoun"We have so many activities at iHouse. It’s catered so everyone eats together here. You get your privacy in your room but when you want to be social it’s really easy to talk to people. I’ve never had an issue with anyone. I would recommend UOW Living. It was by chance that I ended up at UOW and when I saw the campus and iHouse I fell in love with everything and said “I want to live here!” The diversity of people is the best thing about iHouse. Previously I was oblivious to how many cultures there are out there. I thought I was cultured because my family is from the Middle East, but I have met people from all over the world and they have become great friends. We are like a big family, it’s really cool."

Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies - Bachelor of Laws - 2nd Year

Chelsea Fraser (Australian) - Keiraview
Chelsea Fraser"We are a small residence so you get to know everyone easily yet you don’t feel pressured to do anything if you don’t want to. Some of the best friends I’ve made I’ve made at Keiraview, these friends will stay with me for the rest of my life. We have some great events like the commencement dinner which is a nice night where we get dressed up and enjoy a dinner together. It’s open to everyone from Keiraview at the beginning of each session and it’s a really enjoyable night out. I love Keiraview and am really glad I chose to live here."

Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Commerce - 3rd Year

Gunthon Limcharoen (Thai) - The Manor
UOW Living Gunthon Limcharoen The Manor"The best thing about The Manor is it’s the perfect place to study, it's quiet and close to the train station- only about 10 steps away. I love this place. I have made a lot of friends at The Manor and from other residences. I try to introduce myself and have dinner with friends from iHouse. It’s an advantage here because people are from so many countries you can try food from all over the world and share their culture and knowledge.
I recommend the Manor because it’s a great place to study. It is a residence for postgraduate and PhD students only but I try to make some fun too."

Master of Commerce - Master of Strategic Human Resource Management - 2nd Year
Thai

Chulantha Jayawardena (Sri Lankan) - Graduate House
Chulantha"Graduate House is great because it is the best accommodation close to the UOW. I can put on my hat and walk across the road and I’m here. Also you get your own space which is great for studying. The environment is great with some families living here too.
I have been here for 3 years so Graduate House feels like my home away from home. I have made so many friends at UOW and at Graduate House. I would recommend it for anyone coming to UOW. Graduate House has all the facilities you would need and it’s all included in the cost. UOW accommodation is the best anyone can get."
