We are on the university journey with you! At the start of your university degree, you will be paired with a senior university student to help you get settled into study.
First Session Mentoring Program
The First Session Mentoring program has been specially designed by UOW students and staff to help you start and settle into your first session of study at UOW. The program connects you with one of our friendly Student Success Mentors (SSM), a senior university student who know the university ropes. Having studied a similar degree, they will support you in your first session of university to:
- Navigate the university campus and online systems
- Connect you with fellow students in your degree
- Share tips and tricks for starting at university and answer any questions you might have.
You will be able to connect with your SSM online via the mentoring platform and they will also be available to assist you at orientation and at our Student Success Hub (and local campus locations). We will also be hosting a range of welcome BBQ’s and opportunities for you to connect over a coffee!
How to get involved
If you are in your first session at UOW, you will receive an email to join the program as part of your orientation. You can also access the program via the Student Success Portal.
