This presentation will focus on discussing the role of peer reviews in the University of Sydney PASS program. The necessary conditions for effective peer reviews are outlined, as are the benefits of the peer reviews. It is argued that the peer review process is a key strategy in a building our high-performing PASS team in terms of outcomes, but that the process has also produced unintended (and welcome) outcomes and performance. The types of learning that the team achieves during the self-review process is reported and data supporting the analysis is drawn from various data sources (e.g., reflective learning journals, anonymous surveys, peer observation reports and self-reflection reports). There will be opportunities to workshop some of the ideas to assess their relevance for participants’ own institutions and contexts and some resource packs will be available containing the documents used to support the peer review process.
