•         provide an occasion for University representatives to respond to issues raised by student representatives

•         encourage student representatives to work in conjunction with various University committees and units to achieve common ends.

The call for items will be distributed by email to all student representatives.

The Corporate Governance Unit will compile an agenda based upon items received in response to the call for items. The agenda will conform to the University model.

The Corporate Governance Unit will advise speakers on agenda items regarding their attendance.

The agenda will be distributed to all participants in the student representative forum one week before the student representative forum.

The Corporate Governance Unit will provide secretariat support services to the student representative forum including agenda, minutes, room booking and procedural advice.

The Chair will be elected from among the participants of the student representative forum.

The Chair will allow student representatives to speak from the floor with regard to agenda items.

As far as is possible, appropriate University officers will attend to enable responses to concerns raised by student representatives.

Standing orders will be as per the University Council.

The student representative forum may use the following mechanisms to report and provide feedback to the University:

  • Pass a resolution at the student representative forum
  • Seek meetings with appropriate officers or committees
  • Prepare a letter to appropriate officers or committees
  • Encourage student representatives to bring issues to the attention of their committee/body, and
