Testamur, Transcripts and AHEGS
At the University of Wollongong graduation ceremony, students will receive a testamur and transcript free of charge. The AHEGS documents will also be provided to all students who graduate from the December 2010 ceremony onwards.
To verify or attest your original testamur, transcripts or AHEGS:
- DFAT verifications are available in the Student Central office. See Attestation for Department of Foreign Affairs
- Justice of the Peace services are also available in the Student Central office, 9-10am weekdays. See JP Services for other times and locations.
Testamur
Following successful completion of your studies you will receive a testamur (certificate) stating the name of your qualification and area(s) of major study. The testamur is a 'legal' document, issued under the authority of the Vice-Principal (Administration) and the Chancellor, and imprinted with the University Seal.
If you lose your testamur, a replacement testamur can be issued upon application. A replacement fee of $70.00 applies.
See Student Forms and Documents for an Application for Replacement Testamur form (Section 3. Document Request)
Transcripts
Past and present students of the University of Wollongong can request Academic transcripts for the University by contacting Student Central in person, over the phone or via facsimile or email. This is an official record of your grades at the University of Wollongong.
The Application for Official Academic Records form should be used for requests by email, facsimile or where the payer of the transcript is not the student.
Academic Transcript requests generally take up to one (1) week to process, so please keep this, and postage time frames, in mind if you have submission deadlines to meet.
See Student Forms and Documents for an Application for Official Academic Records form (Section 3. Document Request)
If you require an Enrolment Record, showing all your enrolled and withdrawn subjects, including grades, at the University of Wollongong, you can create your own online via SOLS. This is also obtainable, free of charge, by contacting Student Central. PLEASE NOTE: that an Enrolment Record is not the University of Wollongong's official academic transcript. More information creating an Enrolment Record for third parties to view at Enrolment Record Verification.
Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS)
Students who graduated from the University of Wollongong December 2010 onwards are able to apply for an Australian Higher Education Statement. This is a Commonwealth initiative that has been introduced to make Australian qualifications more widely recognised internationally.
The Graduation Statement includes information about the award, the awarding institution and the Australian higher education system, providing potential employers and other institutions a greater understanding of the achievements of the graduate.
UOW provides its graduates with a Graduation Statement in addition to a Testamur and Academic Transcript. The template for the UOW Graduation Statement is based on nationally agreed specifications approved by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
