The University is currently accepting applications for people wishing to commence study in Spring sessions, from 14 July. Places to start mid-year are available in the faculties of Commerce, Science, Engineering and Informatics.

Even if you have not completed the current NSW HSC (or equivalent) in full, or you did not receive the required entry mark, you may still qualify for admission.

Wollongong College Australia (WCA)
WCA is currently accepting applications for people wishing to commence pathway programs leading into all 9 faculties at UOW.

WCA is a private college owned by the University of Wollongong. The College offers a range of university preparation programs, which can provide you with a direct entry path to the University of Wollongong.
The Diploma in Business is for students who have completed Year 12 who wish to study Commerce at UOW. The Diploma is equivalent to first year of undergraduate study in Commerce and successful completion of the course will allow you to enter second year of a UOW Bachelor of Commerce.
The Diploma in Information Technology is for students who have completed Year 12 who wish to study Informatics at UOW. The Diploma is equivalent to first year of undergraduate study for certain Informatics degrees and successful completion of the course will allow you to enter second year of Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Internet Science and Technology or Bachelor of Computer Science.
For each Diploma there are two study options available – a 2 session/eight month course or a 3 session/12 month course.
Foundation Studies is for students who have completed Year 12. Students who complete the Foundation Studies Program (FSP) achieving a specified weighted average mark, and satisfy all course requirements, are guaranteed admission into the first year of their nominated UOW bachelor degree.
STEP to UOW is a tertiary preparation program offered by the University of Wollongong to increase the educational opportunities for young people in our regional area who have experienced a disadvantage in their secondary education. Candidates are required to supply written documentation explaining the serious event or situation they believe has affected their HSC results. STEP to UOW is a two semester bridging program offered through the Wollongong College Australia , aimed at assisting students to enter university who may not have otherwise qualified for direct entry to the University of Wollongong. This program is part of an ongoing commitment by the University of Wollongong to provide opportunities and access to tertiary education to students attending schools in our region.
The UAP is 14 week part-time preparation program that has been specifically designed for mature aged students who want to enter University. The course prepares students for University by teaching skills related to note taking, essay writing, presentations and examinations; as well as specific course content knowledge to help students succeed in both the UAP and their future degree.
The UAP is completed in just 14 weeks of part-time study (morning, afternoon or evening classes depending on availability), delivered over three days a week. You can commence the UAP in February, June or October at our Wollongong campus. Please note, there are limited places available for students wishing to study a Bachelor of Education/Teaching/Nursing and applicants will need to include in their application a separate written proposal addressing additional criteria.

TAFE/AQF qualifications
TAFE Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Diploma or Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level IV Certificate (except Trade Certificates)*
Admission is dependent on the completion of the course and the level of academic performance achieved in the course/s undertaken.
Some Advanced Standing may be granted for these awards (excluding Certificate IV).
*Successful completion of a TAFE/AQF qualification may not provide entry to all undergraduate programs.

TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC)
The TPC is an option for people who wish to gain entrance to the University and for whom a HSC course may be inappropriate. Entry is dependent on the level of academic performance achieved in the TPC. For more information, contact your local TAFE.
Completed or partially-completed tertiary studies
You need an appropriate record of achievement in a Bachelor degree from an approved university or other tertiary institution, which is at least 1/6 completed.
