Indian Students at UOW

Two-year Courses and Double Masters Programs
UOW offers popular Masters which can be taken over two years, with tuition fees charged only for 1.5 years. Alternatively you can complete two Masters in two years, with substantial tuition fee savings for the second Masters. Click here for details.

Wollongong University College (WUC)
On campus at Wollongong and at its downtown Sydney centre, WUC offers:
- English language courses (IELTS, English for Tertiary Studies, English for Business). English courses can be taken for 5, 10, 15-weeks or longer depending on the duration you need;
- diplomas in business and IT, leading to second year Bachelor courses;
- foundation studies and senior secondary programs.
Scholarships
The University is offering ten scholarships to students from India in 2006. Each scholarship covers the tuition fee for one session of study in the specified course, valued at $8,500 -$10,400 each depending on the course enrolled. Click here for details.
Indian Student Experiences
Wollongong is home to a multicultural population and has a range of facilities to cater to Indian students, including Asian grocery stores and restaurants reflecting the cuisine of the many nationalities residing in Wollongong; A mosque, Hindu temple, a variety of Christian denominations as well as the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere are located in the Wollongong area.
The Indian Society meets regularly on campus and organises activities on and off-campus throughout the year. It represents and promotes Indian culture and helps new students to get acquainted with their new environment. The Indian Society also promotes sporting activities and celebrates Indian Festivals. Accommodation
Wollongong offers the advantage of abundant accommodation close to the University at a much more affordable price than Sydney and other large cities. A variety of accommodation options are available:

Placement in University housing can be arranged before your arrival, and we can also provide assistance for those seeking private accommodation. Airport pickup and transfer to Wollongong is arranged for all newly arriving students.

UOW in Dubai (UOWD)
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the United Arab Emirates’ oldest and most prestigious universities. Established in 1993, it was the first Australian university in Dubai to be licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research. The University is located at ‘Knowledge Village’ an educational precinct a short distance from the heart of the city. More than 2,000 students from approximately 70 different countries are currently enrolled at UOWD, including more than 600 Indian nationals.
UOWD offers Bachelor degrees in business administration, commerce, computer science and internet science & technology; Masters programs in business including the MBA; and English language courses. Students are able to transfer from their degree program at UOWD to UOW in Australia.
All UOWD degrees are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and by the Australian Government. UOWD degrees are recognised within the UAE, in GCC nations and internationally for further education and employment in the private and public sectors.
