Qualifications Conducted in English
Applicants may be deemed to meet the Universitys English language requirements based on academic qualifications conducted entirely in English.
If an overseas academic qualification, the University's English language requirement may be satisfied by:
- successful completion of secondary or tertiary studies, or equivalent qualification, with a duration of at least two years from an approved institution where the language of instruction was English; and
- the institution is located in a country where the official language is English; and
- the qualification was completed within two years of commencement of study at UOW.
If an Australian academic qualification, the University's English language requirement may be satisfied by successful completion of:
- two sessions of full-time tertiary study (minimum level of AQF Diploma) conducted at an institution in Australia; or
- a Diploma or Certificate IV qualification with a minimum duration of two sessions and conducted at an institution based at or affiliated with an Australian university; or
- at least one year of full-time study in a course offered by any Australian university, either onshore or offshore.
- The relevant qualification must have been completed within two years of commencement of study at UOW.
An assessment as to whether an applicant meets the Universitys English language requirement will be made by UOW taking into account all information provided with the application for admission based on qualifications conducted in English, on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should note that the student visa application process in some countries includes compulsory IELTS testing.
