Bangladeshi Students at UOW
You are invited to join the more than 120 Bangladeshi students currently studying on campus. Some of the more popular courses taken by our Bangladeshi students are in:

Two-year Courses and Double Masters Programs
UOW offers popular Masters which can be taken over two years, with tuition fees charged only for 1.5 years. Alternatively you can complete two Masters in two years, with substantial tuition fee savings for the second Masters. Click here for details.
Wollongong University College (WUC)
Wollongong University College (WUC) is the private college of the University of Wollongong and offers a range of English language and university pathway programs. WUC has centres in:
- Wollongong: on the main UOW campus, with access to all UOW facilities;
- Sydney: in the heart of Sydney, three minutes from Sydney Central train station and Chinatown;
English Language Courses
Courses leading to all levels of study are offered at WUC Wollongong and Sydney, including:
- IELTS preparation: 5 or 10 weeks
- English for Tertiary Studies (ETS): 5, 10 or 15 weeks
- English for Business: 5 or 10 weeks
- Longer English for Academic Purposes courses (up to 50 weeks), depending on the duration you need.
Diploma in Business (at Sydney and Wollongong):
- 2 sessions (8 months) or 3 sessions (12 months)
- leads to entry to 2nd year of the UOW Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees
Diploma in IT (at Wollongong)
- 2 sessions (8 months) or 3 session (12 months)
- leads to 2nd year of the UOW Bachelors degrees in computer science, IT and internet science & technology.
Foundation Studies (at Sydney and Wollongong)
- 2 sessions (8 months) or 3 sessions (12 months)
- leads to entry to 1st year of most UOW degrees

Scholarships
The University is offering five scholarships to students from Bangladesh in 2006. Each scholarship covers the tuition fee for one session of study in the specified course, valued at $8,500-$10,400 each depending on the course enrolled. Click here for details.
Bangladeshi Student Experiences
Wollongong is home to a multicultural population and has a range of facilities to cater to Bangaldeshi students, including Asian grocery stores and restaurants reflecting the cuisine of the many nationalities residing in Wollongong; A mosque, Hindu temple, a variety of Christian denominations as well as the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere are located in the Wollongong area.

Accommodation
Wollongong offers the advantage of abundant accommodation close to the University at a much more affordable price than Sydney and other large cities. A variety of accommodation options are available:
- University-managed residences (catered or self-catered)
- Homestay with a local family
- Private rental in shared houses or apartments
Placement in University housing can be arranged before your arrival, and we can also provide assistance for those seeking private accommodation. Airport pickup and transfer to Wollongong is arranged for all newly arriving students.

UOW in Dubai (UOWD)
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the United Arab Emirates’ oldest and most prestigious universities. Established in 1993, it was the first Australian university in Dubai to be licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research. The University is located at ‘Knowledge Village’ an educational precinct a short distance from the heart of the city. More than 1,600 students from approximately 70 different countries are currently enrolled at UOWD, including 23 Bangladeshi nationals.
UOWD provides Bachelor degrees in business administration, commerce, computer science and internet science & technology; Masters programs in business including the MBA; pre-university diplomas; and English language courses. Many students complete at diploma or bachelors degree program at UOWD and then transfer to further study at UOW in Australia.
