Legal Services is committed to each member of its legal team having broad experience across all University legal issues.  To ensure a broad skill base the Director, Legal Services will allocate similar matters across the team rather than to one person alone.

To ensure proper capture and allocation of work, Legal Services processes work through a central point, the Legal Assistant, who receipts the work, opens a file (if necessary), and refers that work to the Director, Legal Services for triage and allocation.  The Director, Legal Services considers the work involved, which of the Legal Services team has the capacity and experience to best complete that work, and allocates that work to an individual lawyer on that basis.

Legal Services therefore asks that as a client, you do not directly approach individual lawyers in order to refer work or ask for assistance, as this circumvents the central system and the fair allocation of work amongst the lawyers.
