User Account Management
The University of Wollongong is committed to the appropriate use of information technology and services in support of its teaching, research, administrative and service functions. The University's IT Acceptable Use Policy defines the obligations of users of the University's IT facilities. All users should be aware of their obligations under this policy.
In order to utilise the IT facilities at the University of Wollongong, students, staff and associates of the University are assigned a User Account. Under the University's User Account Management Policy, an authorised user has an assigned user account which is defined by a username and enabled by a password.

Phishing scams may take the form of bogus emails that appear legitimate, often claiming to be from UOW / ITS. They may inform you that we are performing an upgrade to our email system and that you must send your password to prevent your data being deleted during the upgrade.
UOW will never ask for your password via email.
