Managing Your INTERNET Quota
A quota system is in place to allow the efficient management of internet usage.
Internet Quota for Current Students is set at 3GB of off-net traffic with unlimited on-net traffic.
Note: No internet quota is imposed for Postgraduate research students.
Internet Quota is granted on a six monthly allocation at the beginning of each year and is reset midyear.
Quota Tools and Information
To assist you with managing internet quota usage, a notification via email will be sent automatically when 25% and 50% of internet quota is exhausted.
A warning will be generated at 75% of internet quota, advising you to seek permission for an increase if required. Requests are then sent to your faculty for consideration.
Note: Student internet quotas will only be extended if the quota has been exhausted due to use for educational purposes.
A student’s past download history will be accessed and considered before a decision is made regarding the application.
