About the Password Reset Interface

What is it?

The Password Reset Interface (PRI) was developed to allow University of Wollongong email account holders to reset their passwords without needing to make a request in person at an authorised centre.

If you have not yet established your challenges, please do so below.

Why would I need it?

You might need to reset your password if you have forgotten it, or if your password has expired.

How does it work?

PRI relies on two things:

  1. Answers to a set of questions provided by the account holder.
  2. A "challenge" interface which prompts the account holder for answers to questions previously supplied (see point 1).

If you need to reset your password, and you have established your answers as above, you can enter your username here to lookup your challenges. If you answer the questions correctly your password will automatically be reset to the new password you choose.

Conditions of use

To protect your account, a maximum of three attempts to reset a password is allowed. If you are locked out of PRI, you will need to present proof of identity in person to an authorised IT support person to re-enable access. PLEASE NOTE: This will not lock you out of your account, but will only stop you from resetting your password. If you have been locked out of PRI and you did not try to reset your password, please inform ITS or an authorised IT support person.
