WOMEN IN ENGINEERING SUMMIT
An opportunity for young women interested in a career in Engineering
At the Women in Engineering Summit, you'll learn about career opportunities in the engineering industry, see world-class engineering facilities at UOW and visit local industry sites. The summit offers you the chance to meet industry leaders, academics and other women with similar interests from across NSW and the ACT.
Who should attend?
Young women performing well in Mathematics and Science are encouraged to attend this event. Those with an interest in Engineering are also encouraged to attend.
Please note: Preference will be given to students commencing Year 11 in 2014.
The Summit is a four-night residential camp held at the University of Wollongong during the summer holidays.
The 2014 Summit commences on Monday 13 January and concludes on Friday 17 January.
You will stay in a UOW residence in small groups with a live-in student leader. You will have your own bedroom and a shared bathroom.
Your live-in student leaders will act as a mentor as well as supervising participants.
All leaders are recent graduates or current students studying an engineering degree at the University of Wollongong.
Generous sponsorship from within the engineering industry has allowed much of the cost of running the Summit to be covered.
The cost to attend the Summit in 2014 is $165 (inc GST) . Please note this cost does not need to be paid when registering.
You will be required to cover costs of any additional purchases you wish to make while attending the summit. Payment of this attendance fee will be requested once you have been selected to attend the Summit.
