You can study practically anything you want!
At UOW, you broaden your outlook on life and you have a choice of nine faculties in which to do so.
You can integrate international studies or a second language into your degree. And our International Exchange Program gives you the option of studying at one of more than 100 universities around the world.
Your interests
Think about careers that interest you. Then find out what qualifications can lead you there. Check out which degrees are relevant, then find out what subjects you should take in Years 11 and 12.
You also need to think realistically about your academic ability. What subjects are you good at? If you love English, a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature might be suited to you … or perhaps a Bachelor of Communication, majoring in Journalism. If you’re a maths guru, a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics could be for you.
Ideas
Future Finder helps you choose the right subjects for your desired study program—and can also recommend which study programs might be best for you.
For other ideas, go to CourseFinder and click on ‘UNDERGRADUATE’.
Once you’ve decided on and enrolled in a degree, you should try to pick first-year subjects that keep your options open in case you have a change of heart.
Flexibility
Many of our programs allow you to choose elective subjects across different disciplines so you can develop a range of skills and knowledge that meet your own unique needs.
Our double degrees let you specialise twice, so you can pursue your interests and further your career prospects.
And a double major allows you to fine-tune your focus—you don't have to sacrifice one talent or interest for another.
In some fields, you won’t need to make any big decisions about what to major in before you start. With a degree in the Faculty of Arts, you can choose a range of subjects and make a decision in your second year about where you want your studies to take you.
If you want more from your degree, the Dean’s Scholar Program for high-achieving students may be for you.
Finally, you can choose to study full-time or part-time.
